These socks are made from a particularly warm blend of organic wool and organic cotton that is wonderful for the cooler seasons. Made by Living Crafts of Germany, these socks are an exceptionally warm blend of 50% organic cotton/ 50% organic virgin wool*, certified organic by the International Association of the Natural Textile Industry (IVN), Demeter, and meets the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
Living Crafts' organic wool comes from Australian merino sheep wool sheep which are appropriately bred according to ecological guidelines in Australia. They only get organic food without any additives. Living Crafts' organic cotton is grown and handpicked in Mali and India, without the use of chemical fertilizers during its production and without any chemical additives during the manufacturing. All fabric dyes are made without heavy metals or formaldehydes.

*please note that these socks have several small, elastic threads woven into the very top section to hold them up around the ankle. The manufacturer includes these elastic threads because without them, socks made from only natural fibers will not stay up around the ankle. The elastic threads have minimal, if any, contact with the skin. The fabric itself is made from 50% organic cotton and 50% organic wool (no synthetic materials)*
