Disana is a family-owned German company that was founded over 25 years ago with the highest standards of sustainable production and health of little ones as their primary focus. All disana knitted goods are produced from finished yarns exclusively on disana’s own premises in Germany and a neighbouring business employed by disana, which allows the company to oversee every step of production and guarantees the fine, handmade quality of disana products.
All disana products are made of pure natural fibers, including organic cotton, organic wool and silk. Only organic cotton and pure new wool which has been independently inspected and certified is used for disana articles.
Disana is a member of the International Natural Textiles Association (IVN) and is committed to producing under strict ecological guidelines. From the cultivation of the raw materials to the completed garments, every stage of production complies with these ecological requirements. Even all extras like buttons and serving thread are made from naturally recurring raw materials. This is controlled by independent bodies and substantiated by regular chemical analysis of disana products.
Disana was one of the very first companies to receive the BEST organic textiles label and Global Organic Textile Standard label for many of its products. This sign of quality is conferred after a long, extensive certification and testing process, and indicates organic textiles of the highest ecological quality.
