This luxuriously soft long sleeved shirt is made from the smoothest, softest fabric imaginable- 100% pure organic silk jersey.  Silk jersey is very lightweight, smooth, and shiny- ideal for wearing directly next to your skin, or as a lighweight, floaty top over a camisole or another layer.   

This pure filament silk (organic 'Bio-silk') is processed in a way that preserves the natural luster and smooth, reflective surface of silk, so this baby shirt will have the smooth, 'silky' texture that comes to mind that most people associate with of silk.  This is quite different from the texture of bourette silk or raw silk, from which some of Alkena's other baby products are made.  

Made by Sichuan Alkena, this nightgown is 100% certified organic silk.  Alkena silk is the only silk in the world that is certified organic.  The benefit of organic silk for your baby is that there are no chemical residues left on the finished garment following processing.

The Alkena dyeing mill utilizes Clariant reactive dyestuff free from heavy metals, toxin and AOX.

Care:   The fabric regenerates itself quickly by simply hanging the garment in the fresh air.  It is easy to wash and it dries quickly.  Turn garment inside out and place inside of a laundry bag or washing net.  This organic silk garment is machine washable at 86 degrees F with a liquid detergent designed for wool or silk (make sure that the detergent is pH neutral).  Ironing is not necessary.
