Flat diapers are the original and traditional cloth nappy commonly used by our grandmothers, and they are making a comeback!  Their simplicity, versatility, ease of use, and simple care make them a timeless favorite among cloth diapering families.  There are endless ways to fold a flat, and they may be used with a snappi or pin, or they may be used with a pad fold and simply placed inside of a cover without a fastener. 

This flat cloth diaper is made of 100% organic birdseye weave cotton and sewn to dimensions of 29x27 inches.  After washing these diapers are approximately 26x26 inches.  Easy to clean and line dry, even in humid climates.  These organic flat diapers are made of certified organic cotton and are sewn in the USA by stay at home mothers and grandmothers.   Each flast consists of a single layer of organically grown cotton with a birdseye weave fabric.
 
Flats are fast drying and may be machine dried or dried very quickly outdoors.

Other Details: 

Care:  Because this diaper is made from organic, unbleached cotton, it must be washed at least 3-5 times before using on a baby.  This process will remove the oils naturally found in organic unbleached cotton, and it is necessary to allow the diapers to become fully absorbent.  To test the diapers to see whether or not they are ready for use, make a pocket in the diaper and slowly pour 1/2 cup of water into the diaper.  If the cloth absorbs the water right away, they are ready to use!  If the liquid pools and does not soak in fairly quickly, wash them again.

    I am switching all my stash from microfiber to natural fibers and have been trying out a variety of flats, prefolds, etc. over the last week or so. I have used this one at least once a day in that time. So far, I really like it. It's big enough, quite trim when folded, very absorbent, quick drying, and pretty soft. I expect that it will continue to get softer and more absorbent as we keep using it. At first, I probably had a few leaks, but it has not leaked the last few times we have used it.
