Styled after a flight jacket, the Lou hugs the hips and keeps breezes at bay from every angle. Coconut buttons line up in front and two small pockets are built into the hip rib to store tiny treasures. Merino wool regulates temperature perfectly, keeping your baby neither too hot nor too cold. Merino wool is not itchy, making it perfect for sensitive baby skin.
Made by Nui Organics, this jacket is made from 100% organic Merino wool that is sourced from New Zealand and Australia and is certified organic to GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards). It is completely free of harsh chemicals normally found in wool growing that can contribute to wool sensitivity or wool allergy in some people. Nui merino is a natural resource which is biodegradable, sustainable and a renewable resource, growing back year after year.
With the correct care, Nui Organics clothing will last your family for generations. Please be sure to read the care label on your garment for specific wash instructions. In general, we recommend you wash at 30 degrees whereever possible. Many of our garments can be tumble-dried on a cool setting, but we do recommend for nui wool that you lay flat to dry out of direct sunlight. Most of our garments can be ironed on a cool setting. We would recommend that any item with a print on is ironed on the reverse side. Use an approved liquid wool detergent and avoid laundry powders and bleach.
Pilling refers to the tiny wool 'balls' or fuzz that may form on your merino garments with wear. This is a natural process and is caused by short fibers migrating to the surface. These are easily removed with a 'de-pilling' comb and once removed they will generally stop forming after one or two washes.
Sizing: Nui apparel tends to run a bit small, so please keep this in mind when selecting your size. We do not recommend sizing down, and for some babies, sizing up will be appropriate, especially if you need room to accommodate a cloth diaper. Please contact us for specific measurements.
*Please note that toddler sizes are priced higher*
