This double-knit Merino wool nappy cover is one of the softest, warmest wool covers we have found. An excellent alternative to synthetic covers, wool soakers are naturally antibacterial and provide excellent moisture regulation. Wool wicks moisture away from the skin and can absorb up to one third of its weight in moisture and return it to the environment. Once it is prepped and ready for use, you will have no leaks at all with this wool cover, making it an excellent choice for night time.
These covers can be used over any pre-fold or fitted cloth diaper, and the rise is nice and high around the waist, so it will really fit over any type of diaper, no matter how bulky or high-fitting the diaper is. The thick double-knit wool is perfect for night time use. We love this wool cover at night and have never once had a leak! We love how high the rise is around the waist- this will keep your baby comfortable and wam at night. This soaker also covers the top portion of the baby's legs very well, which also helps to prevent leaks.

Fabric: Made by Engel of Germany, these wool covers are 100% organic virgin Merino wool. This wool is finely crimped, does not itch and feels soft and cozy against baby's sensitive skin. The Merino sheep are organically raised without the use of pesticides on neither pastures nor animals.
Made in Germany
Note: This item includes nappy cover only; Baby shirt in image sold is separately.
Care: This cover should be washed before using it on a baby for the first time. Although it has been re-oiled by the manufacturer after processing, we recommend lanolizing the cover at least one time, and possibly twice, before using it to renew its ability to repel moisture. If the soaker is leaking, lanolize again. Your baby should be able to wear this all night without any leaks at all. The wool will contain leaks better and better the more it is used as it becomes slightly more felted. Wool does not soil easily and does not retain odors, so it does not need to be washed very frequently. Please refer to our Wool Care guide for more details, and don't forget your wool care products.
Sizing: These wool soakers run fairly true to size. However, many parents choose to size up to get the most out of one size. The style and fit is quite similar to that of Disana wool soaker; the main difference is the fit of the leg openings- the leg openings on the Engel soakers tend to have a less snug fit (more stretchy). Please contact us if you need additional assistance with sizing.

our babies have skinny legs so the disana soakers have too much stretch. Their waist and legs are nice and loose but make me nervous with blowouts. The engel soakers use a different ribbing for legs and waist so they more snug but not too tight. Disana is a bit softer but both are well made. We decided to go with engel soakers from birth to potty training.

I bought size 86/92 for my 2 mo old daughter (big 14 pound/24 inches baby). They are large on her, but do stay on just fine. Leg and waist openings are tight enough. We had no leaks so far. Only using them at night for now. Best out of all diaper covers (wool and PUL) we tried. You can size up to save money.

You don't have to worry about leaks in this cover. My toddler can wear this overnight and the inside will feel barely damp. The wool is pretty soft and comfortable. The legs are tighter than I'd anticipated, even on my boy's skinny legs, but I expect they'll stretch with more use. The only thing I'm not a fan of is how high the waist is. It literally hits my 15 month old right below the nipples. We fold it over, its summer and way too warm to have wool on his entire torso.

I've been cloth diapering since my baby was a newborn and for some reason I waited almost a month before trying this wool cover in place of the PUL covers I had. I don't know what I was thinking...wool is SO much better! The first night I put him in this Engel cover he slept an extra hour, which feels so delicious when you have a newborn. I use the Disana wool cover too. My baby has thin legs, so the Disana keeps leaking poop in a bit better. The Engel didn't leak, but leaks got down a bit farther to the leg opening. They're both amazing covers.

I reach for these first for our night-time diapering. I love that the rise is so high my Little one's chest is covered by the softest wool. I like this a bit more than our Disana's. For some reason, I think these wash and lanolize better and remain softer than the Disana though. We just love this German brand, the quality is amazing, you won't be disappointed!

I trust this cover when I know there will be a lot of wetting going on(such as overnights or long trips). It is so soft and cute, with a bonus that I don't have to worry about leaks when my baby wearing it. I also love that the wool is breathable, which is important during hot weather and better for preventing rashes. It is a great value and I like it much better than PUL style covers.

These are similar to the disana cover. The differences I have observed is the rise seems a bit higher, and the cover is just a little bit softer. Just as bullet proof as the disana, but with more warmth anda little softer. It is bulky, but that does not bother us in the least.

I think these are soft and they really work! They keep my heavy wetter toddler completely dry through the night even when her fitted or prefolds are soaked. She was about 25-26 pounds when I ordered them/almost 2yrs old, and the 2-3t are HUGE on her, even with her chubby thighs. They would almost fall off her or some reason. They fit a little better on her now that she is a couple pounds heavier. I prefer a style that are more like shorties than these, maybe because I live in Arizona, but that's just a preference. Customer service is AMAZING and prices are wonderful.

I love this cover because it's so soft and stretchy. It keeps in leaks even though my son nurses all night long and soaks through a hemp diaper with two hemp doublers! I'm impressed. I'm also happy that the washing/maintenance routine for wool isn't as daunting as I thought.
