This durable basic building block set is an excellent first block set for any child.  This 26-piece starter set contains all of the basic shaped needed for a young builder, and this set will grow with your child for years to come.  HABA blocks were designed to stimulate spacial thinking and are an excellent way for children to discover and create new shapes.  These blocks are made from solid, natural, untreated beech wood, and all shapes come in standard measurements (1 3/4" x 1 3/4") so that any HABA sets can be combined.

The natural and mechanical characteristics of beech and maple wood, along with beautiful designs with clear colors and shapes, make HABA toys ideal for babies and children.  Only water-based ecological solvent-free lacquers are used on the toys; multiple layers of lacquer make the surface of each toy resistant to humidity and wear and tear, allowing for the toy to be moved back and forth from hand to mouth.  

All HABA toys meet and often exceed the ASTM mechanical requirements required by the CPSIA in the US.  In addition, these toys are tested to meet the stringent European requirements for toy safety.
